Sedo is perhaps the biggest and most well-known of the parking companies. Sedo offers a simple and easy to use domain parking interface. Anyone can join, for free, as there are no minimum requirements. You can pick keywords to optimize your parked pages and you have multiple templates to choose from. Sedo is also very well known from its domain brokering services to buy and sell domains.

Sedo is where I started to park some of my dormant websites and it works rather efficienty. Their built-in optimization is satisfactory and the customer service was rather good. The payout is fairly average versus some of the other programs, though. Still, if you are not planning on building tons of traffic to your site and you are willing to can give up a cent or two per click to get the easier and more flexible interface, this would be my top recommendation.

Sedo is involved in both domain parking and domain brokering. This dual role acts like a double edged sword as far as parking is concerned. On one hand it is great that you have the ability to earn income and sell your domains at the same place. On the other, you feel that you could make even more income if Sedo focused on parking as much as Domain Sponsor does. For example, a CPM (cost per thousand impressions) rate along with pay-per-clicks would make Sedo unbeatable as a domain parking service.

Personally, I see sedo as more of a place that you park whilst you’re waiting for them to sell.

I’ve heard good reviews about NameDrive for parking because the amount of revenue earned.

I use Sedo a lot, and don’t find it hard to navigate, but I did to begin with. It’s something that needs getting used and I’m not best impressed about the revenues I’m getting.

There is no way to settle this dispute because they are all good for different things. NameDrive might be best for a movie domain, whereas Sedo might be best for a technology domain and etc. The only way to find out which is right for you is to park your domain for a month with each of the parking companies and then review which has done best and go with that.

In response to the developing vs parking, I would recommend developing over parking every time.

I have about 60 DNs parked at Sedo. Noticed parking revenues have dried up vs a year ago. Have sold 3-4 DNs thru them. Service is OK.

Lots of people seems to complain about Sedo earnings. Let me explain something: Sedo is the only company in the business (that I know of) that does not pay based on estimates. They pay you as your revenue is generated. The problem with this system is that they need to use estimates at the very beginning. This could result in you getting paid $5 for $15 of earnings in your first day. If you earn another $15 the next day, their system is supposed to be designed to pay you $25 to compensate for underpaying you the first day. This can work in reverse if they significantly overpay you at the beginning. As a result, the Sedo system can be the biggest overpayer or the biggest underpayer in a short period of time. It is supposed to work better over a longer time period (although I am not the one to say if it is better or worse).

I had my domains parked with Sedo and they were making about $3 a month in PPC. Their dumb $10,000 limit for pricing domains for sale caused me to move away all my domains and I am using GoDaddy parking now and the same domains made $63 last month.
